Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club's president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger - a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he's The One. Or so she thinks.
One Hell of a Ride!!! I loved it!
Em is ready to take charge of her life. As the daughter of the president of the Reaper’s motorcycle club, Em has been the forbidden fruit men are too afraid to taste. Wanting a man and control over her own life Em is stepping outside the club in search of man willing and worthy of her. She meets the sweet, nice Liam online, and decides there is no harm in getting to know him better. When Em and Liam meet Em realizes Liam may not be who he portrayed himself to be. See quickly learns her instincts are on target she realizes Liam is actually “Hunter” a Devil’s Jack, Em knows without a doubt she is in serious trouble. How could she want the one man she knows she shouldn’t desire and can never have.
Joanna Wylde has done it again with Devil’s Game the third in the Reaper’s series. Each book in the Reaper’s MC series can be read as a standalone, but when you read them in order each book uncovers delicious details that give a vivid picture of MC life.
Devil’s game is right on target with the previous books in the series. However, Devil’s Game has interesting changes from the other books in the series. The first change is Em. She is a child of the MC and knows club life. The first two books introduce women to the club life. The second notable change is Hunter. Hunter is from the Devil’s Jacks, a rival MC to the Reapers. These changes put a striking spin on the story.
Em is without a doubt the best MC Princess ever! She is tough, sassy, sexy, and just a little naive in the man department. Her lack of knowledge in the sex department was comical at times, and I found myself laughing out loud. Her interest in a Devil’s Jack is an interesting twist. Em is a Reaper through and through, so the thought of her having feelings for such a dangerous off limits man was taboo and gave the story a naughty feel. Which sucked me deeper into the story.
Liam, better known as Hunter, is one sexy as hell biker. I could clearly see how Em had fallen for the Devil’s Jack. He is almost two different men where Em is concerned. She softens and humanizes the big bad biker, and I felt he was more adorable then scary when he two of them were together. The sexual pull he had toward the MC Princess made for some steamy erotic scenes.
Devil’s Game is narrated by Tatiana Sokolov and Todd Haberkorn. These narrators made the MC version of Romeo and Juliet one hell of an audio book. Tatiana knows how to capture your attention and keeps you wanting more. She really connects to her characters, and it shows in how she expresses feeling in her words. She pauses in all the right places, and is enjoyable to listen to. Todd Haberkorn has a hard deep tone perfect for a biker. His gritty voice fit the story, and really brought the hot Hunter to life.
Joanna Wylde knows how to draw you in. Her characters have a way of coming to life, and her stories holding you hostage from beginning to end. She is master story teller and I am addicted to her Reaper’s MC series. If you like dark gritty stories look no further Devil’s Game is the story for you.
