When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love, she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her:
Never ask about the past.
Don't expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can't handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
In this tale of heartache, torment and desire, we meet Tate Collins.Tate is a nurse and is furthering her education. She moves in with her brother and that's where she meets Miles Archer. Miles is an airline pilot with a tragic past. He's guarded and gorgeous. He doesn't talk a about himself and likes it that way. With the most unconventional meeting outside her new apartment, she ends up caring for Miles in an inebriated state. She's not quite sure what to think of the gorgeous man that she cared for until he comes home with them for Thanksgiving.
When they decide on a no strings attached relationship, rules are made. Tate and Miles have a magnetic chemistry even when Miles tries to push her away, she finds her way back to him. The attraction is undeniable.
Miles history twists your insides as well as Tate's unconditional love for this man. Tate is likable and relatable. Miles is swoon worthy and frustrating, like most of the sexy book boyfriends we love. The story is sweet, sexy and compelling. The best stories show the truth about love! The beautiful, the fun, and the ugly! This is one of those. I couldn't stop listening.
Grace played Tate POV, grasping her curiosity and undeniable attraction to this man apparent. During the awkward times, she made her seems so vulnerable with her thoughts but when she spoke seemed so strong and sure of herself. Deacon grasped Miles' endearing side as well as his closed off demeanor with still making him likable. Elizabeth was a fresh voice and I could feel her emotion and angst.
Colleen Hoover, you are still one of my all time favorite writers. You have the knack to rip out and repair a heart in a matter of pages. I always look forward to your books.
