For most of my life, I never imagined I’d get married. But Kate did the impossible: she changed me. I think we can all agree I was pretty frigging awesome before, but now I’m even better.
The road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners. There were mistakes and misunderstandings worthy of a Greek tragedy. But Kate and I made it through with our inexhaustible lust, boundless admiration, and everlasting love for one another intact.
That being said, there were some unexpected incidents in Vegas last weekend that could have been a problem. It was kind of... my final test.
I know what you’re thinking—what the hell did you do this time? Relax. Let’s not judge, or call for my castration, until you've heard the whole story.
And hold on tight, because you’re in for a wild ride. Did you expect anything less?
I couldn't wait for this book. Drew Evans is one if the most original characters and I love his POV. So blunt and so real. He may be a bit egotistical but also genuinely good. I find that those characters are the most fun to read about and the story flows so much better. This series is one that I could re-read and still LOL. There is never a boring moment, even though Drew has seriously grown up since the last we've heard from him.
The setting is one week before his and Kate's wedding. We get the feel of him not only as a family man as well as the filthy mouth sex god that is Drew Evans. Kate as always keeps Drew in line with her undying love for him and no nonsense attitude. Drew as a father is amazing, not without his usual hiccups of teaching lovely words to his young toddler. Drew still is Drew, but the love and affection he gives his son will fill your heart. Not too much of a surprise since his loving relationship that he's had all along with his niece, Mackenzie. Fatherhood suites him well.
The gang decides on a trip to Vegas for the Bachelor/ Bachelorette Parties and that's when the chaos ensues. Drew is a little more secure with his relationship and isn't really into the whole traditional bachelor party scene, but goes along with it for the boys. Kate has some reservations but trusts him, so she goes along with it as well.
We get a glimpse into some of the other couples and of coarse, Billy is there and Drew's special nicknames for him are as funny as ever. Drew decides to help Billy out with the ladies during his party and that's when the fun ensues.
Dee is ever so smart and giving Drew a hard time, but Matthew is their to keep both Drew and Dee in line. Drew learns a little more about marriage when Stephen and Lexi have their own issues and he is more than willing to help.
You really see the growth in the couple and all the little messages throughout the book that reminds us that marriage isn't only about love but about marrying your best friend that you can handle not only the best times with, but want there for the worst of times. Also, that even a self proclaimed man whore is no match for true love. Drew always says that is not all rainbows and boners, but I think in this book it may actually be!
Sebastian York, yet again portrays Drew's voice just like I heard it in my head. Sexy. Cocky. Fun, but when he talks about Kate I also hear the love and the lust. His voice smoothly delivering the words that Emma Chase writes is a good pairing.
Emma Chase has become one of my favorite writers, being able to not only make me laugh out loud, but also cuss and swoon. I think this was the perfect way for Kate and Drew to live their happily ever after and all the very real messages about love are spread throughout the book. It's funny, smart, and Kate and Drew were definitely made for each other. The mistakes made and the chaos that is their lives make great stories, but their love for each other is what romance novels were made for.
