Young interior designer Ava O’Shea has an appointment for a first consultation at The Manor with the owner, Mr Jesse Ward. She is expecting nothing more than an overweight, cravat wearing, well-to-do countryman, and on arrival, nothing would suggest otherwise. How wrong could she be? This Man is devastatingly handsome, charming and confident. He is also a conceited, hedonistic playboy, who knows no boundaries. Ava desperately does not want to be attracted to him, but she can’t control the overwhelming affect he has on her. Every instinct is telling her to run, so she does, but Jesse Ward is not so willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her. She knows she is heading for heartbreak, but how can she run when he won’t let her.
She loves her job, very successful and now has a new client, personally requested. She is very confused why this client requested her, her design skill is ok, to a different segment, no posh posh client.
When Ava meets Jesse, she has a strong pull to him. He own a Hotel Manor, she believe that. The electricity was palpable, she is very attracted to him, she can’t think straight, and she cannot act professional, she has a dirty through.
Jesse is an intense man, with a dominant, controlling man but also is very caring, gentle and very charming. Charms that make Ava get in trouble. Because when Jesse wants, Jesse gets.
Jesse is very attracted to Eva and he do anything to ensure that Ava correspond to this attraction. Of course Ava was appalled with his actions, several times he watched her, call her several times and show up to her flat. That make very uncomfortable at first and she run away to him. She is very attracted but a misunderstanding for her part, make her run away.
His pursuit of her was so wrong on so many levels, but he is frantic to keep her, he really needs her. At this point Jesse is very demanding and controlling…. I fall in love with him; seriously.. And Eva fall in love with Jesse too, against her better judgment.
I love the conversation between Jesse and Eva, and how Eva wants to figure out his real age.
This story is not a typical relationship; they have wounded past and of course full of false assumptions and secrets, to build a strong relationship they have to trust each other to work through.
But also the sex was wow, lots of raw sex, and when you listen, you feel the electricity and emotions this couple have.
I really liked this audiobook, the author give a lot of details and describe the characters well, and you can feel the feelings, sexual tension, and make you really bond with the character, And the narrator succeed in this aspect.
And there is a surprise in this audiobook, we get a bonus chapter, Jeese POV (Wohoo) we have an insight how he feel and his attraction to Eva. Great surprise indeed.
