Jessica, also known as Doc, lives life in fear. Years back, she ran to the Devil's Dust for protection, seeking the demise of her abusive, dominant husband. Her mind and soul tortured by her past, she can't allow herself to move forward. The only thing in her sight is her daughter's safety. Even if she has the attention of one particular tattooed biker, she can't succumb to his charm and drag her daughter back into a world of danger, no matter how much he thinks he can save her.
Mistakes will be made. Fears will be faced. Pain will be remembered. Can Bobby and Jessica survive the dangers they bring upon themselves?
At the hands of her abusive husband, Jessica is living a nightmare, so scared her husband will start abusing their daughter she decides she has no choice but to run. With very few options she runs to the Devil's Dust MC and makes a deal for protection to keep her daughter safe at any cost. What She didn't expect to happen was the intense attention she felt toward Bobby. While she enjoys the occasional hookup Jessica is scared to fall for the bad biker, knowing the life of the MC she doesn't want to put her daughter in danger and her heart at risk.
When the blonde beauty and her baby walk into the MC, bad boy Bobby feels immediately protective, and is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep them safe. In a bedroom only relationship, Bobby and Jessica are so hot you should have a fire extinguisher on hand! However, while Bobby tries to help Jessica to overcome her fear from her abusive relationship, it becomes clear his feelings for Jessica go way beyond the bedroom.
The Fear that Divides Us is the third in the Devils dust MC series, and is Jessica and Bobby's story. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them all, as I loved them all! I instantly became connected to these characters. I absolutely adored Bobby from the first two books in the series and he did not disappoint as the main character. He is so sexy and sweet you can't avoid falling for him. Jessica is so smart, sharp, and sassy! The perfect match for Bobby. I wanted them together right away and quickly became impatient for it to happen, which lead me to become obsessed with their story and left me on edge. This story has it all: sexy as hell bikers, pipping hot sex, and a story that will take you all over the emotional map.
Duel narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden The Fear That Divides Us is a good audio book. Maxine did a really nice job of expressing Jessica's emotions. She has a clear voice and is easy to listen to. She obviously connects to the characters she narrates for and brings them to life. Joe's voice is a good fit for a biker. His voice is tough, rugged, and most importantly sexy. I loved Bobby's POV as I could hear more of Joe's voice.
The only complaint I have is that these narrators also narrated the first two books in the series and know their voices as the previous characters, Dani and Shadow.
M.N. Forgy knows how to create a great MC series. I am looking forward to more from the Devils dust MC! I highly recommend this series!
