Pandora, the gothic friend of Brooke (Real, Mine, Remy) and Melanie (Rogue), thought that getting her heart broken by her bad boy rocker ex could only happen once. But now, he's back in town with the biggest concert of the year. Pandora hates him so much that she gets Melanie to come with her and play a prank on him at his gig. But when they're caught by security, and her ex himself is summoned, Pandora is not prepared for the feelings that seeing him again - beautiful and in the flesh - awaken in her. She's also wholly unprepared for the conditions his manager sets in order for her and Melanie to be released; especially since these conditions only allow Melanie to return home, while at the same time, they put Pandora in perilously close contact with her ex again. The torturous physical closeness between them reignites the passion they once shared, and soon no matter how much she wants to hate him, it's clear she's still hung up on him. And worse: He knows it too.
I couldn't put it down!
Katy Evans writes yet another story leaving me feeling ravaged of every emotion a human can have. She a genius at writing about frustratingly sexy men who have enough alpha to make you melt, but enough vulnerability and sensitivity to make you swoon. Mackenna Jones is a rock god, but also the boy from the wrong side of the town, making your heart swell with his memories, but your undies melt right off when his cocky mouth. Pandora has closed off her heart since the day Mackenna left her waiting for him. Their paths cross again one night where Pandora seals her fate with the sexy rocker and that's when the roller coaster begins! Absolutely loved the couple together. Their banter, their arguments, and the sexual frustration is palpable. At times I wandered if their love/hate relationship could get any hotter!
Getting a glimpse at the friendship between Pandora, Melanie, and Brooke was also nice. I love hearing about the previous characters in a series. You even get a glimpse at Remy and Greyson.
I have to admit that I am a Sebastian York groupie and was excited just to see that he was narrating this. He portrays equal parts vulnerability and cockiness to Mackenna, while expressing heart with every phrase he says. Elizabeth Louise articulates the insecurities of Pandora while expressing her love for the boy used to be and the man he's become.
