They both feel it. But they each have a reason to fight it. They each have a secret. And when secrets are revealed, some will heal you . . . and some will end you.
What did I just listen too?!!! Why am I curled in ball in the corner of my couch with a box of tissues?! Why does a book make me feel things that I never want to encounter again?? .. That's right Bright Side took my heart stomped on it than slowly put it back and said Screw You!!
That's what this book did. I don't cry over books, but this one deserved an award for how many people will cry. Most books we read aren't realistic, they are part of the fantasy world we all live in... its make believe to believe that there is perfect man, or life. But Bright Side shows you life isn't perfect.
Story is based on a girl in college, taking the leap from CALI to Minnesota taking a hold of a scholarship.. Bucket list as we may all call it. This girl was eccentric, never let the bad out weigh the good.. Always had a smile and even thanked the god up above a few times. She was perfect and special. Kate Sedgwick has endured more in her lifetime than most of us as adults have gone through, and the way she lives with No Regrets make her that much more unique.
Gus, what can we say about GUS- other than he's Kate's Best friend, and hes a rock god! Best friends ever since she could remember she relied on Gus to complete her. She didn't need a boyfriend, or even date. She had Gus, because she didn't fall in love. Never will. Gus was out on tour with his band while Kate proceeds to try and get a college education.
Kate makes quick friends with not your typical type, but that's okay because Kate didn't fall in the folder of flashy and girly. But the think about Kate she was your sunshine and always made everyone feel good, she didn't want to be the reason for someone to be sad.
Kate goes through many obstacles with many more "friends" and "close Friends". You will see her journey..
I really did enjoy Lidia Dornet's narration, I think she nailed Kate's blaze attitude.
