Trace Montgomery has buried his damaged past with women and fighting until one day he meets an angel and suddenly he wants more, he wants her. For her, he's determined to overcome his demons but will the dark secret that links their pasts bring them closer or will it tear them apart.
The story of Ember Walsh and Trace Montgomery was a whole bunch of effed up. Ember Walsh meets Trace Montgomery, when she sucker punches some douche at a bar, and Trace comes to her rescue. The mysterious man that she didn't think she would see again does. The most eligible playboy who uses woman, and moves on the next. His profession: Fighter.
Ember is a very strong leading lady. She didn't put up with any of Trace's crap or nor her roommate, oh lord I would love to sucker punch her and her dumb boyfriend.
To give you the short version- the story is about heartbreak, love, lust and secrets. Trace is an arrogant jerk, and Ember fought for what she wanted. Trace has a past- ghosts of his past, and he's not ready to give her a piece of him, and share what type of damage he would create, to both of them-but would her love be enought to grasp him back to reality?
This book was really good- it had like two books in one- you had the romance/sex than had a whole bunch of drama and suspense. I was invested in this story from start to finish- I didn't read the synopsis- I saw a set of boxing gloves and I jumped in. The narration was okay- Amy Rubinate did well for Ember but for Trace and all guys it was ok. Brilliance audio typically has suburb narrators.

“I couldn’t imagine loving someone with that kind of intensity, and knowing that the one you’re with is the only one you’ll ever want.”
I realized that I was rambling so I stopped talking as Trace just looked at me. His expression was completely unreadable. He wrapped his hands around my face as he looked deeply into my eyes before he whispered, “I can...”
